why the name voodoo gypsies?
The Voodoo part of our name aims to maintain harmony between the physical and spiritual worlds which is what voodoo does. Voodoo is not at all inherently evil and about curses. In our case it is a magical spell that we cast on those listening to our music with all positive vibes!
The Gypsies part refers to the traveling and nomadic aspect of the band playing many venues. Not a slight on any people. There are many bands if you search that use Gypsy or Gypsies in their name. Anybody remember “The Band of Gypsies?”
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
My wife and I have become big fans of The Voodoo Gypsies. They bring it each and every show. Their set lists are phenomenal for the classic rock person. They have tremendous instrumental and vocal talents, but they do it while being humble and filled with gratitude to the fans. We have some good music here in The Villages, and The Voodoo Gypsies are at the top of our list.
The professionalism, interaction with our customers and sound created has made The Voodoo Gypsies a regular band for our venue. Thank you so much!
Recently caught the Voodoo Gypsies at the Lake Harris Hideaway with some friends and man they did not disappoint! Straight up badass rock n roll band! Great band with a great sound! Strong vocals, tight rhythm section and stellar guitar playing! Check these guys out, you won’t regret it!
